Hot Air Balloon for a Birthday Card That Suits All

Just Stamp | Stampin' Up! | Lift Me Up Birthday

Here’s What I Made

Birthdays are lurking around every corner.  Be ready for them all by keeping your BDay card stash stocked with cards that suit all: young, mature, boys, girls and all the in-betweens.

Today’s BD card idea that suits all is the sum of a colorful equation. Lift Me Up Stamp Set + Up and Away Thinlits + Best Route Designer Series Paper = Card That Suits All

I love the huge Mango Melody hot air balloon. Although the 15-piece die set includes a splashy detailed balloon, I opted for the solid fragments that total the huge balloon. It’s spectacular.

The Blueberry Bushel street map background is one pattern from the new Best Route Designer Series Paper. It was hard to choose the background design since the paper pack includes several that would be perfect.

The finishing detail that makes my crafty heart patter is the exclamation point I added to the birthday greeting. Find it in the Best Route Enamel Shapes embellishment pack. These little self-adhesive beauties are too cool!

Impressionist Art Inspired Kindness Card

By | July 5, 2018

Stampin' Up! | Just Stamp | Abstract Impressions Kindness

Quick and Easy Abstract Impressionism with Two- and Three-Step Stamping

All you need to make a quick and easy abstract impressionism inspired card can be had from Stampin’ Up!’s new Abstract Impressions Bundle. The 21-piece stamp set can create colorful brushstrokes for soft nature scenes. Plus the three-piece Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies set crops a detailed butterfly, a small accent flower and lacey garden border that add the perfect embellishment for your masterpieces.

Today’s garden scene was easily created by carefully layering two and three brushstrokes using coordinating colors, some “stamped off” to create the flowers and foliage. Each time you stamp, you can create a unique scene.

One thing I love about this set is that it not only includes floral images, it also includes the perfect sentiments you’ll need to personalize your cards. There’s a thank you, congratulations, and friendship greeting.

Impressionist Art Inspired Thank You Card

Stampin' Up! Abstract Impressions | Just Stamp | Thank You Card

You’ve got to love Stampin’ Up! for taking the guesswork out of coordination. Colors, papers, ink, ribbons, stamps and dies make creativity a snap for anyone. Take the Garden Impressions Suite.

Here’s What I Did to Make an Impressionist Art Inspired Thank You Card

I inked the sentiment using Blueberry Bushel ink and added a So Saffron brushstroke behind the sentiment. Both stamps are included in the 21-stamp Abstract Impressions set. The Whisper White cardstock was hand-snipped. The So Saffron print from the Garden Impressions 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper creates a large banner background measuring 3 1/4 x 5 1/4. The flag was hand-snipped. The floral banner measures 2 x 5 1/2″.

The cardstock and ink colors were chosen straight out of the DSP: Blueberry Bushel for the card base and butterfly, and Soft Sea Foam for the 2 3/4 square that was scored 1/4″ around the outside border with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

A splash of Shaded Spruce ribbon from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack peeks from behind the sentiment.

Both the butterfly and sentiment banner were adhered using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Make an Apron Card with Coffee Die Cuts to Perk Up a Friend

By | April 11, 2018

Just Stamp | Apron Card with Coffee Die Cuts

Coffee die cuts spill onto the barista’s apron for a card sure to perk up a friend. The Coffee Break Suite on page 31 of the current catalog are go-to favorites on my shelf. The suite includes the 16-piece Coffee Café stamp set, coordinating Coffee Cups Framelits and the Coffee Break designer paper. Here’s a Coffee Café card using the Center Step Fancy Fold.

Now I find that the new Apron of Love and coordinating Apron Builder Framelits are the perfect blend for the coffee suite. In fact, I’m discovering that the Apron of Love set will be another favorite go-to since the apron is the uniform for loads of trades and crafts. The baker. The grill master. The gardener. The seamstress. The DIY handyman. The artist. The hairdresser. The barista. The stamper. All my favorite peeps that I love to craft for don an apron.

Here’s What I Did to Make an Apron Card with Coffee Die Cuts

I prepared a Crumb Cake card base by cutting and scoring  11″ x 4 1/4″. Next, using Fast Fuse adhesive I adhered a 5 1/4″ x 4″ patterned paper from the Coffee Break DSP.

For the banner, I snipped tails on a 2 1/2″ x 5″ patterned paper and wrapped Linen Thread around the banner several times. With Fast Fuse, I adhered it to the card.

To create the apron, I die cut the apron, neck and ties from patterned paper. I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White card stock and die cut it with the pocket die cut. The spoon and whisk in the pocket were die cut from Crumb Cake cardstock.

The petite coffee cup was die cut directly from patterned paper while the spilled coffee beans were stamped using Early Espresso ink on Whisper White cardstock. I die cut and added a small green heart to the cup sleeve.

The apron and embellishments were adhered to the largest circle of the Layering Circle Framelits. The entire circle with the focal image was adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Colorful Easter Bunny Card

By | March 31, 2018

Just Stamp | Colorful Easter Bunny Card

Nothing says Happy Easter better than a cute bunny. Pair the cute bunny with colorful bursts and stripey letters and you have a fun colorful Easter bunny card for all WITHOUT having to own an Easter stamp set. How ’bout that?

Here’s What I Made

Ironically, my colorful card starts with a Whisper White card base cut to measure 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. It’s scored at 4 1/4″ to create a “standard” card size.

My color combination was taken from the bright and cheery Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper, a Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration free gift. Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight were inked using the sunburst from the Amazing You stamp set, also a Sale-a-Bration free gift. To add texture and contrast, I also stamped using VersaMark and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. This created a stunning backdrop for the hand-snipped HAPPY from the Happy Celebrations stamp set.

In place of the A, I slipped in a cute bunny that was hand-snipped from the We Must Celebrate stamp set and colored using Stampin’ Blends. The Labeler Alphabet was used for the Bermuda Bay Easter. I like the labeled letter effect. This stamp set is handy when you need specific words not readily available in one of the gazillion stamp sets on the shelf. ( 😉 Just kidding. I must have “Easter” somewhere … but it’s never the “right” size.)

Here’s a closer look. Even without the word, the bunny purrs “Happy.”

Easy To Make Easter Card with Peekaboo Bunnies

By | March 25, 2018

easy to make Easter card

Wish everyone on your friends and family list a Happy Easter with an easy to make Easter card. Circle punches in a variety of sizes, patterned paper, whimsical bunnies and a witty sentiment make a super cute card in a jiffy.

Here’s What I Did

Cloud patterned paper cut to measure 4″ x 5 1/2″ serves as the background for four peeking bunnies borrowed from the We Must Celebrate 12-piece stamp set featured in the 2018 Occasions Catalog. The main stamp in the set features four cute woodland animals. To make stamping the single bunny easier, I snipped the four critters on the single stamp image apart. Voilá! One stamp became four. On Whisper White cardstock scraps, I stamped the bunnies using Archival Basic Gray ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends (please read my update at the end of this post).

The peep holes were quickly created with the 3/4″, 1″, 1 1/4″ and 1 3/8″ punches. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the bunnies in whimsical positions to the back of the cloud paper. Warning: the backside of the card is unattractive, but once mounted on Daffodil Delight cardstock measuring 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″, all the unsightly paperwork is quickly hidden.

Finally, I mounted the peekaboo bunnies in the clouds onto a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

The witty sentiment’s origin? Eggstra special wishes came out of the long ago retired Loads of Love Accessories (a set I knew would be a “keeper” for me).

We Must Celebrate Easter

Stampin’ Blends Update

The new alcohol markers are amazing. I admit, I was slow to begin using and promoting the new Stampin’ Up! coloring tools. But now, I am totally sold on their merits. So are many crafters, to the extent that Stampin’ Up!’s supply has nearly been depleted. Here’s how Stampin’ Up! has explained the situation.

Extremely long lead times with our supplier, combined with an unexpected increase in demand, has caused many of our current 27-color offering to go on backorder.

At this time, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to make our entire Stampin’ Blends product line unorderable until approximately the end of May. This is not a decision we came to lightly; but with backorders only likely to get worse in the coming weeks, it is in the best interest of the company—and by association, Stampin’ Up! demonstrators—to temporarily make them unavailable.

Be assured that this decision has not been made due to any financial challenges on the part of Stampin’ Up! This is purely due to the rise in demand and the complications we face with our supplier for this particular product line.

We will keep you posted on the availability of Stampin’ Blends as we learn more.

The good news is they will soon be available again. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for your understanding.
