Hybrid embossing folders offer lots of options. Use the embossing folder and coordinating dies separately or together to create texture and cut shapes for handmade projects. In this week’s Facebook LIVE class, I shared four ways to use the folder, coordinating dies and even the stamp images in the collection to create handmade cards. Plus, I used a go-to card template to jumpstart my creativity.
Check out my video demonstrating four ways to use the hybrid embossing folder. In the video, I share the tools and materials needed to make this under-the-sea card with the colorful, living sea stars. You can click below or click over to the YouTube Just Stamp YouTube channel and view. While you’re there, be sure to subscribe and set up notifications to be alerted of upcoming video tutorials.
Today’s card started with a go-to card template found on page 22 of the Stampin’ Up! annual catalog. It’s a great resource.
Recognize it? I changed the orientation to landscape. That’s the beauty of a card template — it doesn’t need to be exact. Here’s another example using this template.
4 Ways to Use the Hybrid Embossing Folder
Simple Soft Embossing
The easiest technique to achieve. Simply slip a piece of cardstock inside the 3D fold and pass through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine for a stunning texturized background or focal point.
Emboss and Die Cut
Cut texturized shapes and objects to add die cuts to projects. Achieve this technique by inserting the coordinating die inside the folder atop the piece of cardstock.
Brayer, Texturize and Cut
Add ink to the inside surface of the folder with the Stampin’ Brayer. Then insert the coordinating die atop the cardstock.
Stamp, Texturize, Cut
Crank up the color by using the coordinating stamp in any choice of ink color on any color of cardstock. Insert the coordinating die into the folder, align the stamped cardstock and pass through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.
