The Center-Step fun fold is a perfect way to showcase Stampin’ Up!’s Shepherd’s Card stamp set, inspired by Million Sales Achiever Cindy Fodor. This stamp set includes biblical images that appeared when Jesus was born — the shepherd and lambs, Bethlehem and the Christmas Star. They’re accompanied by powerful sentiments to complete your seasonal message.
During this week’s pilot episode of the 12 Weeks of Christmas on Facebook, I shared how to make this card. You can click below or click over to the YouTube Just Stamp YouTube channel and view. Hybrid embossing folders offer lots of options. Use the embossing folder and coordinating dies separately or together to create texture and cut shapes for handmade projects. In this week’s Facebook LIVE class, I shared four ways to use the folder, coordinating dies and even the stamp images in the collection to create handmade cards. Plus, I used a go-to card template to jumpstart my creativity.
Check out my video demonstrating four ways to use the hybrid embossing folder. In the video, I share the tools and materials needed to make this under-the-sea card with the colorful, living sea stars. Today’s card started with a go-to card template found on page 22 of the Stampin’ Up! annual catalog. It’s a great resource.
Recognize it? I changed the orientation to landscape. That’s the beauty of a card template — it doesn’t need to be exact. Here’s another example using this template.
4 Ways to Use the Hybrid Embossing Folder
Simple Soft Embossing
The easiest technique to achieve. Simply slip a piece of cardstock inside the 3D fold and pass through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine for a stunning texturized background or focal point.
Emboss and Die Cut
Cut texturized shapes and objects to add die cuts to projects. Achieve this technique by inserting the coordinating die inside the folder atop the piece of cardstock.
Brayer, Texturize and Cut
Add ink to the inside surface of the folder with the Stampin’ Brayer. Then insert the coordinating die atop the cardstock.
Stamp, Texturize, Cut
Crank up the color by using the coordinating stamp in any choice of ink color on any color of cardstock. Insert the coordinating die into the folder, align the stamped cardstock and pass through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.

TV antennae. Technicolor swatches. And the classic design of the entertainment box. These elements add up to retro, good time vibes, which is the gist of Stampin’ Up!’s Tune In Bundle. It’s the featured bundle in this month’s free card class.
Today’s card starts with a go-to card template found on page 22 of the Stampin’ Up! annual catalog. It’s a great resource.
I chose a black and white color scheme, reminiscent of TVs back in the day. It sets the stage for the color spectrum and the classic TV to be the stars of the screen. Love the nostalgic style.

A little birdie told me that Stampin’ Up!’s Country Birdhouse bundle is worth two birds in your crafty hands. It tweety is a smart choice for year-round cards, as shared here with the Double Diagonal Fun Fold with a patriotic theme. Think of the possibilities — birdhouses for fall, Halloween, Christmas, spring. Every season and holiday on the annual calendar.
Back to the Double Diagonal — this fun fold can be achieved in just three simply steps. Even better — this fun fold works two ways: portrait and landscape orientation. Either way, it folds flat and fits in a standard A2 envelope for easy mailing.
