Just Stamp | Halloween Takeout Treats Boxes

Come October first, it’s officially Bring on the Candy Season for me. Of course, I like to share the sugar and treats as small gifts for loved ones all through the month.  Look at the adorable Halloween Takeout Treat Box I created to present the treats to my canine, feline and human pals. The witchy pooch and mummy kitty warm my heart and make me smile.

Stampin’ Up!’s Trick or Tweet, Spooky Sweets and Takeout Thinlits Dies helped create the take away boxes super easily.

One of the sentiments, along with the spooky bats that can be quickly cropped with the set’s coordinating Spooky Bats Punch, was borrowed from Spooky Sweets. For another Just Stamp project using Stampin’ Up!’s Trick or Tweet stamp set, click here.

Here’s What I Did to Make the Halloween Takeout Treat Boxes

Using the Big Shot, die cut two box thinlits in Pumpkin Pie and Gorgeous Grape. As the Big Shot cuts, it also creates the score lines needed to construct the box. Apply Tear & Tape Adhesive on one base and along the tabs to assemble.

Stamp the characters with Memento Black on Whisper White cardstock. To create the circle bursts — the hat point and tail curve that burst out of the circle — hand snip only around the edges. Slip the 1 5/8″ circle thinlit from the Layering Circles Framelits under the snipped image area before cranking through the Big Shot. Add color using Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Smoky Slate  and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.

Punch Crushed Curry and Gorgeous Grape circles using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. Adhere beneath the stamped images, then adhere to box.

Stamp sentiments on Basic Black (VersaMark Pad) and Granny Apple Green (Memento Pad). Use Whisper White Embossing Powder. Crop to size and adhere.

Stamp trio of bats on Whisper White and crop with the Spooky Bats Punch. Adhere using a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.

Add the finishing touch: a 12″ ribbon of 3/8″ Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon

Voilá! Now that we have made an adorable treat box to gift four- and two-legged pals, I must confess that I feel somewhat of an enabler. My health conscious son lectures me on the evils of sugar that is temptingly packaged as cookies, chocolates, candy … Now, we have gone yet a step further to package the already temptingly packaged sweets into adorable takeout boxes. Do I feel guilty? Not enough to stop the practice!

How ’bout you? Leave a comment if you love gifting treats in cute packaging too.
