Llama with a Hat Spells Fun Times
The Festive Birthday Suite just oozes happy times. The fun llama, the catchy sentiment, the prickly cactus and pretty little flowers combined with the colorful patterns in the DSP mean it’s gonna be a happy celebration. Not only is it a perfect suite for a Happy Birthday card, it’s a perfect suite for us stampers. Stamp Set + Framelits + DSP = SCORE!
Just Stamp Tips
- Start with the bold serapé stripes on the Thick White card base. In my opinion, the stripes should run horizontally. Cut 5 1/4 x 4″.
- A Basic Black mat sets off the crisp Whisper White canvas. Cut Basic Black 4 3/8 x 3 1/8″, and Whisper White 4 1/4 x 3″.
- Heat Embossing makes the sentiment pop. First, ink the entire image using VersaMark. Next, apply Emerald Envy to Fiesta (pad or marker). Last, apply Basic Black to Like There’s No Mañana (marker works best). Sprinkle on Clear Embossing Powder and heat.
- To create the multi-colored banner, cut four banners (Thick White, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry).
- Stamp the decorative image on the colored banner pieces for a Papel Picado look. Take note of the banner shape and the decorative stamp. Matching the stamp to the banner is easy; just study the stamp set label.
- Using a Basic Black marker, ink each letter individually to stamp the banner.
- Hand snip the sombrero from the DSP and cut a slit for the llama’s ear using an Exacto knife.
- Adhere the llama with Dimensionals.
